Hey everyone,

 

This year I am determined to continue making a difference by participating in Bridge to Brisbane and running for a cause  which I've been heavily involved in for over 10 years now - the Shepherd's Arms Children's Home (the Shepherd's Arms) in Bohol, Philippines, a special project of the Humanitarian Projects International, Inc. 

Shepherd's Arms is a safe haven for many disadvantaged children in Bohol, Philippines: caring for children that are orphaned, abandoned, abused and neglected by providing them not only a shelter but a stable home, but spiritual guidance, education, and a chance for them to have a better future and break the poverty cycle.  Shepherd's Arms also helps the poor families in surrounding communities through its free medical clinic and food distribution program. 

This cause is very close to my heart because of my experience growing up in abject poverty. I made it my life's mission to lift as many disadvantaged children as possible from poverty and enable to realize their full potential. 

Since its operation, the Shepherd's Arms Children's Home has produced five university graduates, cared for more than 100 children, served hundreds of patients, and distributed over a thousand of food parcels. 

Shepherd's Arms seeks to be self-sustainable. So far, it has solar panels, rainwater tank, a small animal farm, an aquaponics garden, a fishpond and a poultry farm. It has plans to expand to large scale farming and other ventures, including a bakery to teach the children life skills - baking and conducting business. 

The money raised here will be used toward self-sustainable projects. A hundred per cent of your donation will go directly to the project.
